Considerate and Caring Petal

Today the girls earned their Considerate & Caring Petal: this light green petal emphasizes walking in others’ shoes and living by the Golden Rule of treating others the way

we’d like to be treated.

-During our meeting we started again by saying the girl scout promise. We then handed out tissue paper hearts to each Daisy. We instructed them to crinkle, but not rip, the hearts. Followed by smoothing the tissue paper out again. Once the paper is crumpled, it is impossible to get all the wrinkles out. Because of this, it’s important to be kind to ourselves and to each other so that we don’t add any unnecessary wrinkles to our hearts.

The girls thought up and wrote positive, affirming words for their hearts, such as “beautiful”, “helpful”, “smart”, “strong”, and “kind”. We collaged the hearts together and

posted it in the daisy den as a reminder to be kind and caring towards one another.

Our craft today was creating mini gingerbread house centerpieces for our local senior lunch program. This is our way of being considerate and caring towards members of our community. The girls had a great time decorating together!

We also earned a ginger bread fun badge for the back of our tunic!

Ginger bread houses for the seniors in our area will be brought to St Lukes, by your troop leaders, on the 13th to enjoy with their weekly luncheon.
